For nouns beginning with u- the na- becomes no- eg:

Isithelo nohlaza Fruit and vegetables
Omama nobaba Mother and father

For nouns beginning with i- the na- becomes ne- eg:

Uhlaza nesithelo Vegetables and fruit
IsiZulu nesiSuthu Zulu and Suthu

For nouns beginning with a- the na- is unchanged eg:

Abafana namantombazane Boys and girls
Amadoda nabafazi Men and women
