A friendly way to ask is to attach awu- (or mawu-) to the front of the verb and end the verb with an -e eg:
When the request is directed at the 3rd person singular (class 1, 1a) use maka- eg:
Polite requests are also made using ukucela (to request)
You use ukucela to ask for something eg ngicela usizo will you help please? = I request your help, or sicela ujama can we have some jam?
Ngicela ... is a generally polite way to ask for something eg ngicela ukubona umama wami I ask to see my mother, umfowetu, ngicela ukumbona my brother, I ask to see him
